SITA invites you to join Fabiano Chies and Denis Berger on Wednesday, June 6th for a webinar on "a community-based approach to Voice peering for the air transport industry."
The air transport community faces extraordinary challenges, including rising fuel costs, increased competition and ever growing passenger numbers. It is also a uniquely global industry, with operations in over 220 countries and territories, 24/7. As a result there is a clear need for a cost effective, globally available, community-based approach to the delivery of voice and convergence services, which has led to the creation of the first inter-company voice peering service, the SITA Voice Exchange.
Speakers:
Fabiano Chies, Head of Voice & Convergence Services, SITA
Fabiano Chies joined SITA in 2004 to establish the company’s Global Voice and Convergence Services, and is the father of the air transport industry’s first Voice Exchange. He is also the Chairman of the .aero council, the top level domain reserved exclusively for aviation.
Fabiano joined SITA from BT, where he re-established the company’s Swiss operations as Country Manager. Previously he spent two years as General Manager of a cellular star-up company in Malaysia. After returning to Switzerland, Fabiano was responsible for the launch of UUNET Switzerland.
Fabiano holds a degree in Telecommunications, and a coaching diploma for Freestyle Skiing from Swiss Olympics. He is an Italian national, and the proud father of two.
Denis Berger, Head of Voice Product Line, SITA
Denis Berger is responsible for SITA's voice over IP services - including hosted telephony offerings, softphone and IP trunking services over MPLS and internet - a key product management function within SITA's Communication Services.
Before joining SITA, Denis spent four years at NetCentrex Inc. as director of product marketing and pre-sales for the NAM, CALA and APAC markets. He contributed to major operators' VoIP roll outs as well as the creation of the first consortium -IPlay3- formed to develop and promote integrated triple play solutions addressing the residential market. Prior to this, Denis' experience includes service development positions within Equant (now Orange Business Services) to create the first scalable MPLS-based VoIP VPN services, available over 200 countries for multinational corporations.
Denis holds a MS degree in Physics as well as a postgraduate degree in Computer Science from the French "Ecole des Mines de Paris".
Moderator:
Carl Ford, Community Developer and VP Content, pulvermedia
Carl Ford is a Community Developer, looking to enable business development and customer contact between companies. He also develops the content for pulvermedia conferences. As a pulverite he serves as an advisor to several companies in various degrees. His professional career includes 20 years at telecommunications companies such as Telcordia Technologies and Verizon.
